Why do my parents like me being ignorant?

They could be jealous of your capability to "move faster",to make things happen,to learn.Obviously,they are insecure,lying about money,military rank etc.When they saw that you could've graduated and make more money/progress they took that away.When they saw you could've made your own business when they had to work for some one else they snatched that out of the air.Just keep moving and they will slow.
