How to burn an entire season of a series into a dvd?

If the .AVIs are only 4 GB then you can just drag/drop them onto the DVD & give her a data formatted DVD. But you will NEVER fit them all on one DVD in DVD-format, with menus, etc. 120 minutes is about the limit for that type of format.
